ALLIANCE:
TIME ON YOUR HANDS IN ALLIANCE:
Carhenge is the primary reason to visit Alliance. The heightened anticipation of visiting often leads to disappointment. Patterned after England’s Stonehenge, Carhenge is an assemblage of 38 old cars painted gray and arranged at odd angles to replicate Stonehenge.
In recent years, more junk car sculptures have been arranged nearby to resemble other events and items: a giant salmon bursting out of the ground, the four stages of wheat growing, etc.
Admission is free. Carhenge is located 2.5 miles north of alliance on Highway 87.
